According to the statistics of the Czech state agency Chekhturism, the flow of Russian tourists in Františkové Lázně increased by 12% in 2012.
The resort of Františkovy Lázně, one of the three most famous world resorts in the north-west of the Czech Republic, was founded in 1793 in honor of the Austrian King František 1, Napoleon's father-in-law.
Goethe called Františkovy Lázně "a paradise on earth", appreciating the beauty of the architecture, nature and healing properties of the mineral waters of this resort.
The first mention of the healing springs of Františkovy Lázně dates back to the middle of the fifteenth century. In the XVII century, when the first studies of the sources were carried out, Emperor Franz I approved the project for the construction of a resort town, later named in his honor. The resort is famous for its rich cultural traditions: at different times Beethoven, Goethe, Schiller, other European celebrities, as well as crowned persons rested and were treated here.
Masterpieces of classical architecture and magnificent parks of this city-museum in the open air attract every year an increasing number of tourists. The mineral springs of Františkovy Lázně, due to the high content of carbon dioxide in the water, are called sources of acidic mineral water. The resort specializes in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, gynecological diseases (including children's).
In the vicinity of the resort among the most beautiful nature there are Kinzhvart Castle, Ostrokh Fortress, Hazlov golf courses, Skalka Reservoir, Bismarck Panorama and many other tourist attractions.
